Job Description

We have an immediate office-based Addiction Counselor assignment available with a large healthcare provider in West LA. The Counselor provides chemical dependency services and psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, significant others of CD patients, and families. 

The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance.)
  •   Answers and triages patient calls for information, Tx services, and general CD advice. Responds to and appropriately handles crisis calls.
  •   Provides higher-level assessment (e.g., other, non-CD, MH diagnoses; danger to self or others; non-CD crisis evaluations; emotional/family dysfunction).
  •   Performs intake and psychosocial assessments. 
  • Develops and presents treatment plans to CDRP/S treatment team for recommendations, revisions, and approval.  Participates in clinical case conferences.
  • Conducts chemical dependency-focused educational lectures.   Provides general chemical dependency counseling including individual and group counseling services.
  •   Provides Adolescent, Significant Other, Family, and Multi-Family therapy as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have a Master' s degree and an active ACSW or MFTI license with at least two years of experience.

The work schedule is M, Th, F, 9 am-5: 30 pm and Tues, Wed, 12: 30-9 pm
The assignment is expected to last 3 months+.
 
Hourly pay is $31.00.  A benefits package is not available due to the temporary nature of the position.
