PsychPros is a nationally recognized staffing and recruiting firm dedicated to the behavioral healthcare field. We are currently hiring a Mental Health Specialist to work full-time in Altadena, CA with clients who are chronically homeless. This is a TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT with the potential for converting to a permanent position for a strong candidate.
Qualifications-
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in human services or similar field required
1 year of experience working in a mental health or behavior health field setting performing case management work is required.
Possess a valid California driver's license and have daily access to properly registered vehicle.
Benefits-
Pay range $24.04 - $27.76/hr DOE
Schedule Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
Responsibilities-
Conduct street outreach and housing navigation activities with a focus on chronically homeless and highly vulnerable individuals to engage them in permanent housing options.
Member of an interdisciplinary team that will provide services to clients on the streets and in encampments.
Provide mental health assessments and crisis intervention
Address the individuals’ immediate needs and work to engage them in the housing navigation process.
Enhance existing outreach services to provide clinical and mental health interventions appropriate to the client’s mental health needs.
Connect individuals to other supportive services as needed such as mental health, health, substance abuse, legal, employment, etc.
Provide transportation assistance for the purposes of stabilizing the current housing crisis.
