Director, Psy.D. Program in Counseling and School Psychology Details

University located in New England is seeking a Director for its Combined Psy.D. Program in Counseling and School Psychology.  The University seeks a dynamic candidate with strong leadership skills who can inspire the next stage of program excellence. The doctoral program has applied for accreditation by the American Psychological Association, was granted a site visit in October 2018, and anticipates an accreditation decision in April 2019.

The program adheres to a practitioner– scholar model and prepares graduates to be consumers of research that informs their practice as skilled professionals delivering assessment, intervention, consultation, and preventive services to their clients and constituents. This is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position in which rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience. 


Responsibilities include:
  • Build on the strong academic foundation of the program, while overseeing and maintaining the program' s well-established aspirations for APA accreditation.  
  • Provide leadership and foster collegiality among an experienced and talented faculty.
  • Serve as a core faculty member in the Psy.D. program
  • Expand student engagement opportunities and develop best practices as a foundation for the practitioner– scholar model of doctoral preparation.  
  • Oversee all aspects of accreditation, including curriculum, program handbooks, documentation and student evaluations.
  • Expand the already robust field training sites and clinical placements for graduate and doctoral students.
  • Work with senior leadership in marketing, website development, enrollment management, technology, finance, student services and the Regina library to recruit, retain, and provide services to a diverse group of doctoral students.
  • Ensure appropriate data collection and assessment within the doctoral program. 
  • Assume advisement and mentoring responsibilities for doctoral and graduate students in counseling and school psychology; distribute faculty responsibilities and serve on doctoral research committees.
  • Maintain professional and licensure requirements commensurate with teaching doctoral courses, supervising practicums and internships; conduct internship seminars.
  • Participate in the forward momentum of the program and the University through appropriate Division and/or University committees.



Applicants with experience, knowledge, and scholarship in the below are encouraged to apply:
  • Earned doctorate in School or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with a minimum of five years of professional experience in academia or clinical practice
  • Knowledge of APA standards for accreditation
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the state of New Hampshire
  • Graduate teaching or clinical supervision experience in counseling and/or school psychology
  • Demonstrated scholarship, including applied research, in the areas of counseling and/or school psychology
  • Administrative experience in higher education, school settings, and/or the mental health arena
