Director of Counseling Programs

University located in New England seeks  a Director of Counseling Programs for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Division of Education.  The programs adhere to a practitioner– scholar model and prepare graduates to be consumers of research that informs their practice as skilled professionals delivering assessment, intervention, consultation, and preventive services to their clients and constituents.  Responsibilities include collaboration with the University' s Center for Behavioral Health Professions and Workforce Development, a partnership between the University and the community designed to address workforce development in the area of behavioral health, especially substance use disorders.


  • Teach graduate and doctoral courses, supervise practicum and internships, and conduct internship seminar
  • Supervise faculty who advise, teach, and mentor graduate and doctoral students
  • Work with Enrollment Management to recruit and retain a diverse population of graduate and doctoral students
  • Oversee, evaluate and develop field training sites and clinical placements for graduate students
  • Advise and mentor doctoral students in school counseling and school psychology on dissertation committees
  • Develop and monitor data collection and analysis for program databases
  • Manage program handbooks, documentation, and website
  • Serve on Program, Division, and/or University committees
  • Oversee and maintain professional accreditation



Applicants with experience, knowledge, and scholarship in the below are encouraged to apply:
  • Earned doctorate in School or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program with a minimum of five years of professional experience in academia or clinical practice
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the state of New Hampshire
  • Managed, evaluated, and developed field training sites and clinical placements for graduate and doctoral students
  • Graduate teaching and clinical supervision experience in mental health counseling, school counseling, and/or school psychology
  • Demonstrated scholarship including publications and presentations in school psychology, school counseling and/or mental health counseling
  • Experienced in the integration of technology into teaching and learning for all students
  • Administrative experience in academia, schools, community, and/or mental health services
