Job Description

PsychPros, Inc. is assisting an outpatient treatment provider in their search for Licensed Behavioral Health Therapists with locations in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.  The Therapist will provide clinical and consultation work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.  Therapists are expected to exercise considerable independence of judgment in the application of psychotherapy, counseling, and clinical skills to assist in the treatment provides a mission to improve the quality of care, reduce costs, and increase patient engagement and satisfaction.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive evidence-based counseling services to pediatric and adult patients via individual, family, and/or group modalities, within the scope of licensure and expertise
  • Complete thorough and timely documentation of encounters to support billing of services provided
  • Review cases with colleagues, manager, and/or director as clinical or risk-management needs warrant
  • Obtain and maintain behavioral-health-based licensure and credentials
  • Support the medical team in a broad variety of roles including:
    • Case consultation
    • In-vivo brief interventions
    • Warm handoffs
    • Fielding traditional psychotherapy referrals
  • Promote Behavioral Wellness services across facilities by:
    • Accepting Skype consults on emergent cases
    • Leading educational presentations to staff and the public
    • Participating in coordinated efforts with other integrated care providers (e.g., Nutrition’ s Emotional Eating Program, Chronic Condition Management, etc.)
    • Referring appropriate patients to other programs as needed
    • Participate in leadership meetings at assigned sites, Quarterly Provider meetings, etc.
    • Creating initiatives to build rapport with clinic staff, foster camaraderie and reduce burnout


Experience, Education and Licensure:
  • Master’ s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related mental health field from an accredited college or university
  • Current, unencumbered licensure in North Carolina as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed family and marriage therapist (LMFT), licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC), licensed psychological associate (LPA) or psychologist
  • At least 2 years of clinical behavioral wellness experience post master’ s degree completion
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teams, telehealth, Medicare patients, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders preferred
