Job Description
A nonprofit service provider in Burlington, NC is seeking a full-time Licensed Psychological Associate. The psychologist is responsible for providing assessments, interventions, and support plans for people with IDD who receive residential support in and around Alamance County. Psychological services are provided from a positive supports perspective which promotes independence, growth, and community engagement. The psychologist works collaboratively with residential support staff and directly supervises Behavioral Specialists who work to ensure the implementation of positive behavior support plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs formal and informal psychological evaluations for approximately 60 individuals who reside in group homes within the Alamance County, NC area for Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) and individuals receiving Innovations supports (specialized consultative services).
- Provides recommendations projecting psychological and behavioral needs of the individuals supported.
- Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team. As a team member, the Psychologist will assist in the development of an Individual Program Plan for each individual needing services.
- Develops behavioral goal plans and guidelines for each individual needing behavioral support. These goals and guidelines shall be based on the individual’s quantifiable objectives as determined by the interdisciplinary team.
- Provides behavioral services as outlined in the Individual Program Plan for each individual.
- Conducts in-service training for behavior plans and guidelines as appropriate.
- Provides written documentation of services provided and reviews of behavior plan data in each individual’s record according to the Individual Program Plan, ICF, and Innovations standards.
- Maintains familiarity with ICF and Innovations standards. The Psychologist will provide services according to these standards and best professional practice. Maintains adequate professional contacts for training and technical support.
- Agrees to avoid any action or situation which may present a conflict of interest or may have the appearance of impropriety.
- Attends Quarterly Psychiatric meetings for ICF and other specified individuals. Provides appropriate documentation of behavior data concerning individual’s health for ICF and other specified individuals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in psychology from an accredited institution required.
- Trainees may be considered, but all candidates must be eligible for and subsequently fulfill all requirements for licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Psychological Associate under provisions specified by the Psychology Practice Act.
- Two years preferred with experience in the provision of psychological, behavioral, and assessment services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
