Job Description
We are currently assisting a client in the search of a Licensed Therapist in the Bricelyn, MN area.
PURPOSE:
The Therapist is responsible for providing and documenting individual, family, and group therapies to assigned caseload in addition to assisting in the establishment and maintenance of a therapeutic milieu.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’ s degree from an accredited school in Psychology, Social Worker, or related mental health field.
- Applicable state license
- Post graduate experience in a therapeutic setting, preferably with children and adolescents with emotional disturbance
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sensitivity to racial, cultural, economic, and gender specific issues
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy
- Collect information about residents through interviews, observation, and tests
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge
- Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to residents’ treatment and HIPAA compliance
- Knowledge of “ best practices” and evidence based behavioral medicine treatment delivery and methodologies
- Skilled in Motivational Interviewing
- Knowledge of DBT and Mindfulness, as well as CBT, Gender Issues and Experiential Therapy
- Act as client advocates in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
- Identifies emergency signals and situations, and reacts appropriately
- Collaborate with other staff members ensure resident’ s treatment needs are met
- Meet with families, county workers, probation officers, police, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process
- Refer residents or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary
- Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting resident
- Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and residents’ progress in addressing identified problems and moving towards defined objectives
- Plan, organize and lead structured programs of counseling, work, study, recreation and social activities for clients
- Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in residents’ status
- Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies
- Monitor residents’ use of medications
- Facilitate workshops and trainings about mental health issues
- Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
