Job Description
A treatment provider in Dallas, TX, is seeking a part-time, contract, bilingual (Spanish & English) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join its mental health care team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish and will be responsible for psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and coordination of care with other licensed mental health professionals (as needed).

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments as clinically indicated.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications based on current evidence-based practices.
- Complete intake notes, medication follow-up documentation, and treatment plans within 48 hours of the patient encounter.
- Coordinate care with QMHPs, LPCs, LCSWs, and other clinical team members as needed to support treatment goals.
- Participate in occasional case discussions or staffing meetings to support integrated patient care.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding mental health diagnoses, medications, and treatment options.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, clinic documentation standards, and applicable licensing regulations.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted license in the State of Texas as one of the following:
- PMHNP – Certified by ANCC as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Current DEA license with ability to prescribe controlled substances.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting (preferred).
- Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with support from an interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and telehealth platforms.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care.
