Associate Medical Director (Addiction Medicine) – Full-Time
Western North Carolina | Blue Ridge Mountains Region
Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to excellence in addiction medicine and recovery-focused care. We are seeking a Board-Certified Associate Medical Director to help lead our multidisciplinary team and deliver high-quality, ethical, patient-centered care.
Position Overview
The Associate Medical Director partners closely with the Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while maintaining a balance of administrative responsibilities and direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clinical leadership and team oversight alongside the Medical Director
- Provide outpatient medical services to select patients
- Oversee medical care, including histories, physicals, and detoxification services
- Collaborate with nursing, medical, and clinical teams
- Participate in on-call rotation (every other week)
- Engage in case reviews and clinical team meetings
- Deliver educational presentations to patients, families, and community partners
- Ensure compliance with CARF standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- MD or DO licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina
- ASAM certification or Board Certification in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry
- Significant experience in substance use disorder treatment
- Experience with detox, co-occurring disorders, and recovery-based models
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care
