Director of Clinical Services Full-Time | Central-Eastern Vermont
A non-profit therapeutic residential treatment program located in central-eastern Vermont is seeking a full-time Director of Clinical Services. This program specializes in the treatment of adults with persistent psychiatric illness and is committed to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed, and client-centered care.

—offering an ideal balance of professional purpose and lifestyle Position Overview The Director of Clinical Services provides senior-level clinical, operational, and administrative leadership across residential and behavioral health programs. This role is responsible for ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong client outcomes while supporting program growth and development. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership
Provide individual and group therapy in alignment with treatment plans and clinical best practices
Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and collaborative treatment planning
Monitor client progress within the residential milieu
Provide crisis intervention and oversee risk management practices
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
Coordinate referrals and discharge planning with external providers
Participate in admissions reviews and referral consultations
Clinical Supervision & Program Oversight
Provide regular supervision and mentorship to clinical staff
Oversee documentation quality, compliance, and service delivery standards
Conduct chart audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
Manage caseload distribution and staffing coverage
Lead clinical team meetings and collaborate with residential leadership
Support crisis response coordination and clinical decision-making
Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
Develop and enhance clinical policies, procedures, and outcome measures
Program & Organizational Leadership
Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning and program development
Lead and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations
Cultivate relationships with referral sources and community partners
Participate in organizational leadership meetings and initiatives
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
Active independent clinical license (LCMHC, LICSW, LMFT, or equivalent)
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in behavioral health or residential treatment
Skills & Competencies
Strong clinical leadership and supervision capabilities
Expertise in behavioral health and trauma-informed care
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions
Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Commitment to collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Compensation & Benefits The salary range is $100,000-$110,000.
