Hospital-Based Consultation-Liaison Psychologist
Greater Austin, Texas

An established and respected independent psychological consultation-liaison practice serving Central Texas is seeking a licensed psychologist to join its team. The practice provides psychological consultation for medically complex patients across acute care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and long-term care settings throughout the Greater Austin area.
 
Position Overview
The psychologist will provide consultation, assessment, and brief intervention for patients in hospital and rehabilitation settings while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers. This role offers significant clinical autonomy, a flexible practice environment, and meaningful interdisciplinary work without private practice responsibilities or rigid productivity quotas.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychological evaluations and brief interventions
  • Assess depression, anxiety, adjustment, cognitive, capacity, and dementia concerns
  • Perform crisis intervention and suicide risk assessments
  • Support pain management, treatment adherence, and rehabilitation participation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary medical teams

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology
  • Active Texas psychologist license or eligibility for licensure
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in medical, rehabilitation, health, geropsychology, neuropsychology, or crisis assessment is preferred
  • Early career psychologists are encouraged to apply
