Licensed Clinical Therapist – Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility
Full-Time | Jackson, Mississippi

A long-standing, mission-driven nonprofit residential treatment program in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Therapist to join its Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and adolescents with complex behavioral health needs while working within a collaborative, trauma-informed treatment team dedicated to helping youth heal and thrive.
Position Overview
The Licensed Clinical Therapist provides comprehensive psychotherapeutic services to children and adolescents receiving residential psychiatric treatment. Working closely with youth, families, guardians, and an interdisciplinary treatment team, the therapist develops meaningful therapeutic relationships while delivering evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy. This role also plays a critical part in treatment planning, care coordination, discharge planning, and ensuring high-quality clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
  • Meet with new admissions within 24 hours of admission.
  • Complete intake screenings and clinical assessments.
  • Provide a minimum of one hour of individual therapy each week.
  • Conduct at least two 60-minute family therapy sessions each month.
  • Facilitate a minimum of three 60-minute group therapy sessions each week.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans and conduct ongoing treatment plan reviews.
  • Participate in Child and Family Team meetings and weekly clinical staffing.
  • Coordinate care with Child Protection Services, the court system, families, and community providers.
  • Develop comprehensive aftercare and discharge plans for each youth.

Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete admission documentation within required timelines.
  • Develop the Individual Comprehensive Treatment Plan within 14 days of admission.
  • Complete monthly treatment plan reviews.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation for all therapeutic services.
  • Participate in clinical community meetings and assigned committees.
  • Provide Clinical On-Call coverage as scheduled.
  • Design and implement behavior modification plans when appropriate.

Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain active professional licensure and clinical privileges.
  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development.
  • Receive regular clinical supervision from the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational standards as well as Mississippi Department of Medicaid and Mississippi Department of Health regulations.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current Mississippi licensure as one of the following:
    • LMSW
    • LCSW
    • LPC
    • LMFT
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing behavioral health services to children and adolescents.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary, trauma-informed treatment environment.
