Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) On-Site – Outpatient Mental Health
Location: Dallas, TX (Weekly travel to Waxahachie required)
Job Type: Temporary
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $34/hour
Must be commutable to Dallas, TX
Overview:
We are seeking a Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) for an outpatient community mental health organization serving children, adolescents, and adults. This role focuses on medication training, patient education, and rehabilitative services to support improved mental and physical health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medication education and psychosocial rehabilitation services during psychiatric and clinic visits
- Monitor patient progress and communicate with the care team regarding concerns, lab results, and medication needs
- Administer injectable medications as required
- Track and monitor patient medications, appointments, and basic health indicators (labs, weight, blood pressure)
- Educate patients on mental health conditions, medications, and physical health concerns
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans based on patient goals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency standards
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in community mental health or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and mental health diagnoses
- Experience with patient education, medication management, and clinical documentation
- Familiarity with community resources for individuals with mental illness
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel to Waxahachie, TX once per week
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
